SEPARATION ANXIETY

Over the past month of a new school year, I have spoken these words of comfort multiple times to children struggling with separation from their parents and the comfort of their home.
It’s okay to feel sad.
You are only here for a little bit.
Your mom/dad loves you so much.
She/he will come back to get you soon.
Let’s find something to do while we wait.
I have been off social media for a while, but I logged back in yesterday to check my messages. I was overwhelmed with the grief, hardship, and anxiety that people are experiencing and sharing on social media.
It struck me. We are very much like children struggling with separation from our Heavenly home.
May these words bring you comfort, just as they have for me.
It’s okay to feel sad.
You are only here for a little bit.
Your Dad loves you so much.
He will come back to get you soon.
Let’s find something good to do while we wait.

"Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done." Revelation 22:12
